aura fischbeck is a san francisco based choreographer, performer, writer, and teacher of movement. a philadelphia native, aura received her earliest dance training from her mother brigitta herrmann, a student of mary wigman and co-founder of group motion dance company and her father manfred fischbeck, co-founder and current artistic director of group motion dance company. after achieving her BA in dance and poetry from the naropa university in boulder, CO in 2001, she continued on to become a certified pilates instructor from the pilates center of boulder and relocated to san francisco in 2003. fischbeck has performed her work at the boulder museum of contemporary art's after hours series, the philadelphia fringe festival, odc’s pilot series, the spiehl uhr series, the west wave dance festival, raw & uncut, RAW, women's work and artist's in motion. aura has performed in the work of barbara dilley, wendell beavers, cara reeser, chris black, kathleen hermesdorf, krista deNno and joe landini.
